Packing labels for the orders no marketplace prints

Amazon, Flipkart and Meesho hand you a label for every parcel. The orders that come through your own website, WhatsApp or a phone call do not come with one, so most sellers write the consignee on the carton with a marker and hope the transporter can read it.

This asks for the consignment once and gives you a PDF with one page per box. Each page carries the same consignee, transporter and freight terms, and differs in the one place that matters: Box 1 of 30, Box 2 of 30, right through to the last one.

How it works

  1. Fill in who it is going to. Company name and the number of boxes are all that is required. Contact person, address, city, state, pincode and phone are there when you have them, and are left off the label when you do not.
  2. Add the transporter and the terms. Cargo name, whether it travels by surface, air or train, and whether the freight is To Pay or already Paid. Transporters you use are remembered on your account, so the second consignment is a pick from a list.
  3. Put a barcode number in, if you want to scan them. Each box gets its own code - BC1234-01, BC1234-02 - so a scanner can tell box 7 from box 23. One code repeated on all thirty boxes would read as a single parcel and could never be counted off.
  4. Download, and print on the roll you already use. 4x6 inches by default, which is what a thermal roll expects, or A4 if you are printing on sheets. The preview on screen is the real first page, not a drawing of it.

What it handles

  • One page per box, numbered Box 1 of 30. A box that never arrives is only noticed if the boxes were numbered, and this is the cheapest place to number them.
  • Every field except the company name and the box count is optional. A section you leave empty - cargo, sender, weight - is left off the label entirely rather than printed as an empty heading with nothing under it.
  • Each box carries its own barcode, suffixed from the number you type. That is what lets Order scan check count them off one at a time and tell you 18 of 30 are packed.
  • A tracking link prints as a QR code beside the barcode, and in words under it. It is the consignment's link, so it is the same on every box - the barcode is what tells the boxes apart, the QR is what answers where the shipment has got to.
  • The transporter's booking contact and phone print under the cargo name, and are kept in your browser for the next consignment. When a box goes missing, the number to ring is on the carton rather than in somebody's phone.
  • The consignee never leaves your browser. Their name, address and phone are typed here, printed on the label and kept here - there is no upload endpoint on our side to send them to.
  • Fragile and Do not stack print as a boxed mark across the label, aimed at somebody glancing at the carton rather than reading it.
  • Weight and size per box can be printed too, which is what most transporters ask for at the counter.

Your files stay on your computer

This runs inside your browser tab. The file is read and written on your own device and is never uploaded - not the order PDF, not the customer names and addresses printed on it. There is no upload endpoint to send it to.

Questions

Why does each box need a different barcode?
Because a scanner reads a code, not a carton. If all thirty boxes carry BC1234 then scanning box 1 and scanning box 23 are the same event, and there is no way to know which ones are packed. The suffix makes each box its own parcel, so the count means something.
Can I put a tracking link on the label?
Yes. Type the link your transporter gives you and it prints as a QR code next to the barcode, with the link itself written along the bottom for a camera that will not focus. It is the consignment's link rather than the box's, so every box carries the same one - which is the right answer, because every box is in the same lorry.
Can I use this with Order scan check?
Yes, when you have put a barcode number in. Tick the box and each carton is added to today's list as its own parcel under a channel you name - Website by default - so you scan them off exactly as you do Amazon and Flipkart parcels.
What size does it print?
4x6 inches, which is the thermal roll most sellers already buy for marketplace labels, so the same printer and the same stock do both jobs. A4 is there for anyone printing on an ordinary office printer instead.
Is the customer's address saved anywhere?
No. The consignee is typed into the page, drawn onto the PDF by your own browser and never sent to us. The only thing kept on your account is the list of transporters you ship through, which is your supplier and not your customer.
Do I have to fill in every field?
No. The company it is going to and how many boxes there are is the whole of what is required. Everything else prints when you fill it in and is quietly left off the label when you do not, so a short label is a clean label rather than one full of blanks.
